When Strategic Planning is to be done

The nature and needs of any organization is the key factor in scheduling the strategic planning. Take for example, products of organization if serves those industry that is rapidly changing needs frequent planning. In such a case the planning is done either once in a year or twice and in a very comprehensive fashion.

If the organization has a fairly stable marketplace then only once a year planning is enough. Moreover the planning is only done to certain parts of strategic planning process such as action planning that is updated once in a year.

Strategic planning should also be done for the preparation of newer important ventures. It should be done on time to set further goals in the next fiscal year.
